Second fix carpentry and interior joinery

Second fix carpentry & interiors

Doors, architraves, skirting and trims once the shell is weathertight — plus storage and joinery you will use every day.

Second fix is where a build starts to feel like a home: crisp margins, doors that close properly, and joinery that lines up with plaster and flooring. We work from clear setting-out, protect finished surfaces, and leave snagging lists short.

Door hanging and ironmongery

External and internal doors need the right gaps, hinges and latches for the frame and the floor finish. We set up, adjust and hand over with hardware fitted and working smoothly — including fire doors where specification matters.

Architraves, skirting and trims

Consistent profiles, tight mitres and clean scribes make the difference between "done" and "finished". We take time on junctions with stairs, fireplaces and fitted units so the eye reads a continuous line around the room.

  • Built-in wardrobes, alcove storage and shelving
  • Window boards, picture rails and period details by arrangement
  • Coordination with decorators and flooring trades
  • Extensions, renovations and smaller standalone jobs

Quality that lasts

Materials move slightly with seasons. We allow where we should, fix securely where we must, and use fixings and adhesives suited to the substrate — so trims stay put and paint jobs are not fighting movement.

Tell us your programme. We slot second fix where it belongs in the build — not rushed before plaster has settled, not left so late that other trades are blocked.
